Job Description
The Academic Registrar is responsible for the administration of the student journey at Global College Malta.
Reporting directly to the Academic Dean and working closely with the College’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), they lead and manage the College’s academic administration team. They ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and provide effective systems and processes to support the student journey from admission to graduation.
They support the Academic Dean, and as necessary the Chief Operating Officer, in providing strategic leadership for the College and ensure its academic excellence, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Education:
A degree in a relevant field like education, business, or administration is required at a minimum. Preference is given to candidates with a master's degree or another advanced qualification in higher education administration.
Experience:
Significant experience in higher education, with a proven track record in academic administration, student services, and quality assurance, is crucial. Experience in leading and managing administrative teams and implementing organisational change is highly valued.
Sector Knowledge:
An understanding of the Maltese higher education sector, including the regulatory framework, quality assurance processes, and relationships with professional and regulatory bodies, is important.

Leadership and Management:
Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, foster a high-performance culture, and inspire others to achieve strategic goals.
Strategic Thinking:
The ability to develop and oversee strategies for the College’s Academic Team that align with the College’s broader strategic objectives.
Communication:
Good oral and written communication skills are required for effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders.
Analytical and Numeracy Skills:
Strong analytical capabilities and a high level of numeracy are necessary for interpreting data and statistical information to support the College’s day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
Digital Literacy:
Proficiency with digital technologies, student information systems, and databases is expected.
Organisational Skills:
Good organisational and administrative skills with a high degree of attention to detail are vital for managing academic records and processes.

Integrity and Discretion:
High levels of integrity, openness, honesty, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tact.
Emotional Intelligence:
A high degree of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and the ability to engage College students and staff effectively to build trust.

A flexible, proactive, and resilient approach to work, enabling effective problem-solving and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong diplomatic and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and sustain positive and productive relationships at all levels of the College.
Problem-Solving:
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make difficult decisions and see them through to implementation.
Renumeration:
The salary for this role will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
