The Department of Earth Sciences is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Finance Assistant to join our friendly Finance team.
Based in Central Cambridge, you will work closely with another Finance Assistant to support the department's Accounts Payable and expenses functions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further their finance career in a varied and collaborative environment.
Other responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Raise customer invoices and perform credit control procedures
* Assisting with month-end, half year-end and year-end processes
* Supporting day to day finance operations and reporting tasks
The ideal candidate will be educated to A level standard/AAT level 3 or have equivalent practical experience. You will bring experience in an accounts-based role, including use of accountancy software packages and reporting tools. Strong attention to detail, excellent organisation skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.
The role is part-time at 0.6FTE. You will report to the Finance Co-ordinator and collaborate closely with the Finance team, the Research Grants team, and colleagues across the department, including academics, professional services staff and students.
