About the role 
 
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in ESR spectroscopy to work under the supervision of Dr Claudia Tait for a period of up to 36 months. The project involves the further development and application of ESR spectroscopy to the investigation of organic semiconductor heterojunction nanoparticles for photocatalysis in collaboration with the group of Prof. Iain McCulloch and is funded by the EPSRC.

About you 
 
Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Physics or a relevant subject area, (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment.  The research requires experience in continuous-wave and pulse ESR spectroscopy, including experimental setup, setup optimisation and coding for data analysis and simulation.  You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
 
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory, South Parks Road, OX1 3QZ and is available from January 2026 (with some flexibility regarding start date).
