University College Cork wishes to appoint an academic to the role of Lecturer Across the Bar in Agribusiness and Farm Management. This jointly funded position with Teagasc offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the expanding agri-food systems research community and to play an active role in the development and delivery of teaching programmes in agriculture and agrifood business. This post is open to relevant disciplines including Farm Business, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management and related fields, but the successful candidate must demonstrate a clear comprehension of farm business appraisal and management in the Irish context.

The Lecturer Across the Bar in Agribusiness and Farm Management will demonstrate a track record of relevant research and education in the field of farm management, agribusiness and agricultural economics. Candidates should identify their research outputs to date and demonstrate their ongoing potential to publish in leading international journals (3 and 4 star ranked journals by the Chartered Association of Business Schools are preferred). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research teams. Candidates will also demonstrate their experience and/or potential in delivering high quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate education levels. The successful candidate will be actively supported in developing and advancing their research portfolio, with a particular emphasis on farm management and agribusiness. Opportunities for collaborative research with both Teagasc and other academic institutions and business entities will be strongly encouraged and facilitated. Candidates should set out how their research may contribute to one or more of the UCC Futures or the School’s proposed new strategic research, Future of Work and Economies.

Below the Bar: €42,102 - €72,452 (Scale B) / €44,169 - €68,942 (Scale A)
