The Finance Team provides shared financial services to 15 Centres and Institutes across the Old Road Campus, supporting the Department’s complex and diverse research portfolio.

Working with the Accounts Payable team, you will be responsible for overseeing, invoice entry, supplier statement reconciliations, reviewing invoices on hold among other things. You will also use the ticketing system to handle enquiries from our stakeholders. You will be a key point of contact for academics, researchers and administrative colleagues across the department and will also work closely with other members of the NDM Professional Services team (in particular the Grants Team and the Financial Management Team). They will contribute to the wider management of the department through the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

The role will involve preparing and processing invoices, resolving supplier queries, reviewing reports to ensure payments are accurate and timely, and maintaining complete records for audit purposes. You will also support colleagues across the Finance Team, provide advice on financial procedures, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and the University’s central Finance Division.

Alongside these responsibilities, you will help maintain good working relationships across the Department, contribute to efficient financial administration, and take part in departmental engagement and training activities.

You should be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) with proven numerical ability. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, are essential.
