About the role 

You will work with a research team on a NIHR funded study investigating why some international medical graduates become consultant doctors or GPs, and others do not, using a realist approach (SUP IMG Study, NIHR 163631). You will be responsible for conducting an analysis of secondary data, held in the UK Medical Education Database (UKMED) using logistic regression and survival analysis, and writing up the results for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

You will be actively supported to develop your own research career whilst working with us. 

You will become part of the Collaboration for the Advancement of Medical Education Research (CAMERa) research group. CAMERa is a welcoming and growing research group tackling problems of national and international importance in the training, retention, and reforming of the healthcare workforce. 

This is a full-time position working 37 hours a week on a fixed-term basis until January 2027 due to funding. 

For this role, you will need to be on site at least 1 day a week. Although we can accommodate hybrid working, flexibility to be on-site will be expected depending on business needs. 

The successful candidate may be required to obtain an ATAS Certificate prior to this research being undertaken.
