We are looking for a dedicated Pensions and Payroll Assistant to join our busy team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our staff are paid accurately and their pension benefits are managed efficiently. You’ll be right at the heart of our operations, working closely with colleagues across HR, Finance, and external providers.

About the role

Your role will be split between supporting our vital payroll and pensions functions. Day to day duties will include:

  • Creating accurate new employee records within the payroll system and respective pension schemes.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Handling a variety of daily administration tasks across the University’s multiple pension schemes.
  • Assisting the team with the end-to-end process of running monthly payrolls.
  • Handling incoming employee requests and resolving payroll and pensions queries promptly and professionally.

About you

The successful applicant will sit within the payroll team and work closely with the Pensions Specialist. The ideal candidate will have some experience working in payroll and/or pension environment. You will have a methodical approach to workload and will be expected to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

You will also have:

  • Excellent administration skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Competence using Excel, Word, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience in providing excellent written and verbal communication. 
  • Experience of working with others in a team.
