Anatomy Demonstrator posts provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to anatomy provision for a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate students in a top university in the vibrant, multicultural, well‑connected city of Birmingham, which has one of the youngest and most cosmopolitan population profiles in Europe. We are an inclusive city that respects and celebrates our many different cultures, providing a diverse and exhilarating experience for visitors and citizens alike. We offer iconic buildings from the Victorian era to ultra-modern, a wide variety of culinary experiences, a 250-year-old canal network, and a continuous pedestrian zone which connects our main city squares.

The University of Birmingham is proud to have been a part of the city and wider region for 125 years, and we are equally proud to be recognised as a leading global university. We want to attract talented people from across the city and beyond, support them to succeed, and celebrate their success. We believe that there is no such thing as a typical member of staff and that diversity is a source of strength that underpins the exchange of ideas, innovation, and debate. We warmly welcome people from all backgrounds and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is at the heart of who and what we are, and how we work.

The University is situated in leafy Edgbaston and there are excellent transport links to our beautiful campus, including main bus routes and a train station on site. On campus, we have a state-of-the-art sports centre with pool, shops, places to eat and drink, our own art gallery, museum and botanical gardens.

For Anatomy Demonstrator posts, applications are invited from medical, dental or anatomy graduates, preferably with some higher education teaching or clinical experience. The successful candidate(s) will be involved in teaching topographical, functional and clinical anatomy, neuroanatomy, embryology and histology in a variety of learning environments. They will also have responsibilities in varied assessments across our programmes, which include medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, physician associate, physiotherapy and biomedical sciences. They will also contribute with a positive attitude towards other activities of the unit, such as creating learning resources, dissecting, scholarship, educational research, committees and outreach, commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.

Informal enquiries can be made to Abbie Riley, email: a.riley.1@bham.ac.uk
