About this role

The Health and Safety Advisor will support the Health and Safety Manager in leading the strategic and operational safety planning and management of the University, promoting and developing a safety culture so that the University continues to meet its legal requirements in terms of compliance with Health and Safety legislation.

This is an excellent career opportunity within a large, educational setting with training and development available. The post holder will deputise for the Health and Safety Manager as and when necessary.

As the primary point of contact for all health and safety queries the post holder will identify, implement and recommend areas for improvement, carrying out and report on statutory compliance, best practice, accident investigations, risk assessments, site inspections and audits contributing to the successful delivery of high-level customer-focused services.

About you

You’ll be required to work flexibly and may be called outside normal working hours to help and support in an emergency, provide support at Student Union or University-wide events. 

It is essential you are an experienced Health and Safety professional with recent, relevant experience; excellent communication / interpersonal skills and a resourceful, flexible, helpful and pragmatic approach.
