The College hopes to elect to the following Fellowship from October 2026:
THE DRAPERS’ COMPANY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN PHYSICAL OR BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES OR MATHEMATICS
Applications for the Drapers’ Company Research Fellowship are welcomed by outstandingly able researchers in Physical or Biological Sciences or Mathematics. Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. since 1 October 2024 or submit their Ph.D. by 1 October 2026. Applicants will submit a plan for the postdoctoral research they wish to undertake during their Fellowship.
The duration of the Fellowship will be for three years. The stipend will be £32,080, p.a., point 35 of the College scale with a pay award pending for 2026.
The holder may be invited to do a limited amount of teaching for the College, in the form of up to six hours per week of undergraduate supervision (small group teaching) in the same broad area as their own research, during the twenty teaching weeks of the academic year. They will receive additional payment for these supervisions but would require the permission of the Governing Body to undertake other paid work.
Research Fellows are offered subsidised accommodation, in college if unaccompanied, or in college-owned flats or houses if partnered; where accommodation is not required the Drapers ’Company Research Fellow will be offered a study in College. Research Fellows, like every Fellow of the College, are members of the Governing Body, and enjoy a range of benefits and privileges as well as responsibilities. These include seven free meals per week at High Table, access to a Fellows ’Research Fund, and eligibility to apply for support for conferences or workshops Fellows organise in Cambridge.
