We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate with experience in human neuroimaging (fMRI and/or MEG) and advanced data analysis (multivariate classification and/or computational modelling) to carry out fundamental science research in the Woolgar lab. The ideal post holder will have prior experience with acquisition of fMRI and/or MEG data, strong coding and analysis skills including using multivariate pattern analysis, and knowledge of the field of flexible cognition, top-down control, selective attention, and frontoparietal cortex. The post holder will be expected to work within the context of the ongoing research programme in the lab, to share their technical, analysis, and conceptual knowledge with other lab members, and to contribute to the positive research culture of the Woolgar lab and the wider environment at the University of Cambridge.
Interviews are expected to be held mid-December and the anticipated start date will be 01 February 2026, or earlier if possible.
Successful candidates who have not yet received their PhD by January/February 2026 will be employed on University Grade 5 as Research Assistants, starting at £34,610 per annum. Upon being awarded their PhD, their salary will be upgraded to Grade 7 as Research Associates starting at £37,694 per annum in the first year. In the second year, the salary will rise to £38,784, and in the third year, it will be £39,906.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year from the start date.
