The role:

The Music Services Supervisor (Academic Liaison) fulfils a key role in supporting teaching and research at the Faculty of Music. The role holder is responsible for day-to-day operations at the music faculty library and for projects and activities around music focused academic liaison across Cambridge University Libraries & Archives.

As Music Services Supervisor you will:

  • Deliver high quality user services.
  • Develop and deliver teaching sessions on music information skills and resources.
  • Ensure collections are discoverable and reading list materials are available.
  • Liaise with the academic community to ensure all music information needs are met.
  • Oversee day-to-day management. 

What we are looking for:

  • Music literacy and a good understanding of music as an academic subject.
  • Experience of developing and delivering library services.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Digital literacy, such as an understanding of metadata requirements for music materials or the potential role of AI in providing music services.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a user facing environment.
