Applicants for all academic positions should have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from a recognized University. The university reserves the right to request recognition of the Bachelor’s and of the Master’s degree from the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (K.Y.S.A.T.S).
The above specializations are considered of exceptional and unquestionable particularity, for which the authorship of a doctoral thesis and the acquisition of a doctoral degree are either not possible or not common. Therefore, for the above posts, there is no requirement for a doctoral degree. The minimum qualifications that are required for the above mentioned academic positions, including publications and academic experience, are contained within the provisions of article 26B of the Cyprus University of Technology Law of 2012 (111(I)/2012), as it was published in the official Government Gazette on July 17, 2012, Issue no. 4348 and are detailed on the University’s webpage: https://www.cut.ac.cy/university/administration/administrative-services/hr/jobs/staff-categories/exception-far/?languageId=1
Candidates should especially take note of the ideally minimum requirement for at least (5) years (for applications to the Lecturer rank) of autonomous teaching or research work, after the award of the Master’s Degree, at an accredited institution of higher or highest education, or equivalent research centre.
The candidates will be assessed only for the rank or the ranks for which they have applied in the E-Recruiting Platform.
Citizenship of the Republic of Cyprus is not required.
It is noted that, according to the Cyprus University of Technology Budget Law 2023 (article 18), academic or other teaching staff are obliged to have a permanent stay in the Republic of Cyprus for the duration of their employment at the Cyprus University of Technology and the University will proceed to payment of their remuneration provided that the above obligation is fulfilled.

For the current position, good knowledge of the Greek language is required; evidence is provided in the relevant circular by the Public Service Commission, or B2 Level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
In case an elected candidate does not have a good knowledge of Greek language based on the criteria set above, it is his/her obligation upon his/her election to achieve it within three years time, with the commitment of the relevant Academic Department.
