Catering & Hospitality Assistants play a super-important role in the UEA’s ‘The Campus Kitchen’ in providing efficient support for barista and food service throughout the day. Working in any of our 14 outlets and busy hospitality department (but mainly in Unio), you will assist with preparation and service of food and drinks, delivered catering, keeping our outlets clean and tidy, and even assisting at a variety of functions and events.
Based in The Hive at the heart of campus, Unio serves our student and staff community as part of the wider Campus Kitchen brand, providing fresh coffee, bubble tea, handmade hot flatbreads, and a selection of croissants and patisserie items throughout the day. As a team member, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth service, upholding high food standards, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Whether behind the scenes or interacting with customers, you'll be an essential part of delivering exceptional experiences.
Is this role for me?
You will be able to work hard within a fast-paced environment; consistently demonstrate great customer service; display enthusiasm and have a willingness to support your colleagues.
Previous experience of working in a catering environment with some relevant training or experience is beneficial, but not essential as full training & coaching will be given. Shift patterns will be for a mix of weekday and weekend working in Unio, working both daytime and evening shifts to suit the business needs.
This full-time, University term time only (30 weeks per year) post is available immediately on an indefinite basis.
This post is based in the UEA Campus Kitchen, University of East Anglia, Norwich, Norfolk, UK.
The vacancy is not eligible for VISA sponsorship, and you will need to hold or be able to obtain the right to work in the UK to undertake this role.
What are the benefits of working for UEA?
If you meet all the essential requirements of the person specification, including a love of working in the service industry it’d be great to hear from you.
