We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Support Officer to join the University’s Research and Innovation Directorate.
The Research Support Officer provides research administrative support for key initiatives within the Research and Innovation Directorate, including supporting colleagues across the department in co-ordinating funding enquiries, funding opportunities, training and development opportunities for staff, and ongoing project management.
The role involves providing professional project support to academics throughout the full project lifecycle. This includes costing support, maximising grant funding awarded, and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines from the application stage through to award and post-project closure.
As a Research Support Officer, you will have experience of project administration within the Higher Education research funding environment, along with demonstrable knowledge of funding body audit requirements. You will have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and advanced Excel.
With two A-levels or relevant experience, and GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, you will bring excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work to meet targets and work to strict deadlines.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all.
