The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced stylist to join a dynamic creative team and play a key role in shaping the next generation of fashion talent as a Specialist Technician – Styling.
Based at London College of Fashion, you will provide professional expertise and technical guidance across styling and production-based practices — supporting student learning through technical workshops, one-to-one guidance and professional feedback. You will deliver specialist instruction in techniques such as styling for brand, still life, editorial and commercial styling, as well as window display and art direction for fashion shoots.
In addition to teaching and demonstration, you will oversee the daily running of the styling facilities, including the organisation and maintenance of the styling cabinet and inventories of clothing, props and accessories. You will ensure safe use of equipment, manage bookings, and work collaboratively with academic and technical colleagues to support curriculum delivery, exhibitions and events.
About you
We are looking for someone who has a degree in Fashion Design, Visual Merchandising or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, alongside proven industry practice in styling — such as editorial or commercial shoots, still life, fashion production, window display, art direction or brand styling. Experience in sourcing and managing models, garments and props is essential.
You will bring strong knowledge of fashion trends, colour theory, styling principles and production processes, with confidence in using styling tools, equipment and relevant software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are key, as is the ability to demonstrate techniques, train others and provide constructive feedback. A proactive approach to Health & Safety, risk assessment and the maintenance of high professional standards is essential.
