The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Technician – Styling to join a creative team and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of fashion talent.
Based at the London College of Fashion, you will provide expertise and technical guidance in styling and production-based practices, enabling student learning by providing demonstrations, training, and professional advice in specialist techniques such as still life, editorial, and commercial styling, as well as window display and art direction for fashion shoots.
This role also involves managing specialist styling facilities and inventories, including darkrooms and studios, ensuring the safe use of equipment, and working closely with academic and technical teams to support curriculum delivery, exhibitions, and events.
About you
We are looking for someone with a degree in fashion design, visual merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience, along with proven experience in styling (such as editorial or commercial shoots, still life, fashion production, window display, art direction, or brand styling), including sourcing models, clothes, and props.
Strong knowledge of fashion trends, colour, styling principles, and production processes is essential, along with proficiency in styling tools, equipment, and software such as the Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills are required, including the ability to train, demonstrate, and give constructive feedback, and a strong commitment to Health & Safety, risk management, and maintaining high professional standards is also essential.
