Equate Scotland is a national expert policy, research, development and advocacy programme, with a focus on women’s under-representation within the Science, Engineering, Technology and the Built-Environment (STEM) sectors. Funded by the Scottish Government, the programme is hosted by Edinburgh Napier University and is based at the Edinburgh Napier University Craiglockhart campus.
As part of our ongoing focus on the delivery of a high-quality service within the STEM ecosystem, we are currently recruiting a part-time Policy & Research Co-ordinator to work on policy and research that supports Equate Scotland’s core remit.
The Role:
The role of the Policy & Research Coordinator is a rewarding one, giving you the opportunity to use your relevant skills and experience, working in consultation with Equate’s Director to shape the programme’s policy and research focus.
Your ability to assess/analyse/share relevant information and data will be fully utilised along with your excellent analytical and written/verbal communication skills, to inform key learnings which will help in the continuous improvement in Equate Scotland’s expertise on inclusion and gender equity.
Furthermore, your practice-based knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods will allow you take responsibility for the development, coordination, and distribution of employer and STEM women surveys that are adapted to different sectors, producing research and evaluation reports that can be shared with employers, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
We anticipate that you will be passionate about outcomes for women and gender equality in STEM so this post will give you the opportunity to make a real difference, as you support the team in developing and delivering valuable resources and activities which deliver on Equate’s objectives, based on tangible research and data.

Additional Information:
Salary: £31,236 – £33,002 p/a (pro rata and depending on experience)
Contract: Until 30th September 2026 (with likelihood of extension in line with funding)
Part Time – 28 hrs/wk Monday-Friday (flexible and hybrid working available)
