Head of Estates

Goodenough College – Estates

Goodenough College is an education charity, providing accommodation to international postgraduate students (we call them Members) and their families. The College is situated on two sites across a picturesque Central London Square. It offers a variety of accommodation options from shared single rooms, ensuite rooms and family flats, alongside grand halls, libraries, and common rooms.

The College also owns the 4-star Goodenough Hotel, located nearby, which conducts commercial activities to generate income. The financial returns from the Hotel directly support the College’s charitable mission, helping to encourage and assist the education of its Members.

Additionally, the College owns The Burn, a Scottish retreat comprising a 20-bedroom Grade B Listed Mansion House. The Burn primarily serves as an academic retreat for postgraduates but is also available for private bookings, family celebrations, and holiday accommodation.

The College is seeking an experienced Head of Estates to oversee a variety of critical functions related to its properties. • Manage a team to ensure a high level of performance and productivity across all estates functions.
  • Monitor and report on the department’s budget as part of the financial oversight of estate operations.
  • Provide effective leadership in health and safety, including the production of reports for audits and inspections.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • A relevant higher qualification in a building-related discipline.
