Turning Passion into Purpose. The School of Engineering and Design at London South Bank University (LSBU) invites applications for a KTP Associate in Hydrogen Production and Storage to contribute to a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded by Innovate UK. This collaborative project is delivered in partnership with HydroStar Europe Ltd. (HydroStar), a small-to-medium enterprise (SME) specialising in advanced hydrogen technologies that underpin the transition to low-carbon energy systems.
HydroStar’s principal activities encompass the design and deployment of integrated hydrogen solutions for industrial gas switching, sustainable transport and maritime fuels, and the blending of hydrogen into existing gas distribution networks. The objective of this KTP is to advance HydroStar’s capabilities and consolidate its position as a provider of technically robust, commercially viable hydrogen energy solutions.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at HydroStar’s facilities in Exeter, with periodic travel to LSBU and associated partner sites as required. This post is offered on a Fixed-term Contract basis for up to 36 months.
About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
A PhD (particularly where it demonstrates research expertise in hydrogen systems, thermodynamics, or metal hydrides) and experience with metal hydride materials, heat recovery systems, CFD simulations, and hydrogen production technologies is also desirable.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree, demonstrate strong motivation, and possess a deep understanding of renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen, energy system controls, and system integration. Experience in experimental and modelling investigations, industry-related projects, and energy system design and integration is highly desirable.
