We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
Funded by the Office for Students (OfS) Hello Future is a Uni Connect Partnership, operating across Cumbria. The role of Hello Future Outreach Officer is unique and involves supporting young Cumbrian people to make informed decisions about their next steps after school or college and towards closing the gap between the most and least represented in Higher Education.
You will contribute to the delivery of the agreed targeted and strategic outreach activity (including some attainment raising activity) within your designated area. You will be responsible for working with defined groups of learners and develop and deliver interventions, together with partnership members and wider stakeholders to create sustainable and high impact collaborative outreach activity.
You will maintain excellent working relationships with schools, colleges, employers, partners and community groups within your area to ensure the programme runs effectively, meeting agreed targets and the expectations of those involved. The partnership will act as a point of contact. Therefore, your role will also be to share what is available locally and signposting to local outreach provision effectively when working with young people and their influencers.
You will line manage the Furness Graduate Intern and be responsible for managing student ambassadors deployed to support activity. You will support evaluation, monitoring and data collection/ tracking, working closely with the Hello Future Outreach and Evaluation Manager. You will also contribute to the delivery of the overall strategic plan for Cumbria.
This is a varied role working with young people and their influencers in a variety of settings, using innovative and dynamic approaches to raise aspirations and support personal development.
This role is fixed term until July 31st 2026.
Hybrid working arrangements can be supported for this role in line with business need.
This role requires satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at an enhanced level.
