Description of Post

ATU’s new MPharm programme offers significant enhances opportunities in the Northwest. This post of Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice is a unique opportunity for an academic with experience in delivering pharmacy education and MPharm programmes at Higher Education level to join the new Department of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at ATU’s Sligo campus.

Working closely with other staff in the Department, the successful candidates’ role will be to:

• deliver teaching, learning and assessment within the discipline of Pharmacy Practice on the MPharm programme, including management of ePortfolios, supervision of projects, conduct of OSCEs and the pharmacy statutory Professional Registration Exam
• contribute to the development and delivery of teaching, learning and assessment of other programmes within the Department, School of Life Sciences and wider Faculty of Science & Health, including supervising postgraduate research and the development of new learning provisions;
• collaborate effectively with other staff across the wider Faculty of Science & Health in championing the development of new programmes and interprofessional learning;
• engage in relevant research, which will expand the research expertise and activity in the Department, School of Life Sciences and wider Faculty of Science & Health.

The postholder will be expected to enhance the discipline area of pharmacy at ATU, providing expertise in a manner which engages with the student body and ensures that the students understand the relevance and application of their core learning.

Essential Qualifications

An MPharm Degree at Level 9 as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), or equivalent pharmacy qualification.

Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
