Are you committed to creating inclusive workplaces where disabled colleagues, neurodivergent people, and those with long-term health conditions can thrive?

We’re looking for a collaborative and inclusive Disability Inclusion Manager to help UKRI become a Disability Confident Leader and embed disability inclusion across our workforce.

In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues across HR, Estates, IT, Communications, and our staff networks to ensure that disabled staff, neurodivergent colleagues, and those with long-term health conditions are supported, valued, and empowered.

You’ll lead UKRI’s progression to Disability Confident Level 3, coordinate the Disability Smart self-assessment, and develop practical tools, training, and resources to build inclusive capability across the organisation. You’ll also play a key role in strengthening our evidence base, improving accessibility, and ensuring that lived experience informs our policies and practices.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong knowledge of disability, neurodiversity, and long-term health conditions, and how these relate to equality and inclusion.
  • Experience driving positive change for disability inclusion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build trust with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skill in developing practical resources and delivering training to support inclusive workplaces.
  • Confidence using data and lived experience to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

We welcome applications from people who identify as disabled, neurodivergent, or have long-term health conditions, and we value lived experience as a source of insight and leadership. We support flexible working and are happy to discuss adjustments to the role or working arrangements.

Following application, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview, which will include a 10 minute presentation.

We’re committed to making our recruitment process inclusive. If you require any adjustments or would like to discuss accessibility, please contact recruitment@ukri.org
