We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated IT Support Officer to provide support for computer systems and networks at the BASE Site of UOB Manchester, M15 6LR. You will be responsible for providing first and (partial) second line IT support on site for all troubleshooting requirements. This will range from classroom support for academics to assisting staff and students with their IT requirements.
This role requires knowledge, experience and technical competence across a broad range of computing areas including MS Windows active directory, user support, hardware (PCs, printers, audio visual kit, IP telephones, etc.), operating systems, networking (ethernet and Wi-Fi) and communications protocols. A strong interest in Information Technology is vital and experience with a variety of operating systems is desirable.
You will have a good standard of education to include BTEC or equivalent relevant experience. Experience in a first-line IT support or helpdesk role, including audio visual support and a detailed knowledge of latest and legacy Windows operating systems with the ability to diagnose software problems such as network and operating system configuration problems is essential. You will have excellent communication skills to network with a wide range of personnel and the ability to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure a high level of quality and customer service. It is essential that you are able to keep abreast of latest technologies in IT and have an interest in future developments in the field.
