Lecturer Acting for Stage and Screen

You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative Performing Arts team that delivers high-quality training across Acting, Musical Theatre, and Actor Musician pathways. Our students are creative, curious, and ambitious emerging artists who are developing their practice for work across theatre, screen, and live performance.

This is a zero-hours role during term time only. The salary will be pro rata and based on the hours available. We’ll discuss the expected hours in more detail at the interview stage.

What you will do

• Teach and support students across Acting, Musical Theatre, and Actor Musician courses on modules including Acting Process and Practitioners, Acting Technique, Research for Performance, Screen Acting
• Plan and deliver engaging, practice-based sessions informed by your professional experience.
• Provide constructive feedback and tutorial support to help students develop confidence, technique, and critical reflection.
• Contribute to assessment design and moderation.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student experience.
• Maintain awareness of current professional and pedagogic practices in acting and screen performance.

About you

• Experienced actor or practitioner with a strong professional background in stage and/or screen performance. You’ll bring a passion for teaching and an ability to inspire students to find and trust their own creative process.
• Significant industry experience as an actor.
• A sound understanding of acting methodologies and their application in training.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative team.
• Experience of (or a willingness for) teaching in HE or FE.
• A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting a diverse student community.
• A degree or equivalent professional experience is essential; a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one is desirable.
