The role
As Systems Officer in the Global Engagement Division, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Raiser's Edge database and related systems. From undertaking complex maintenance and integrations to shaping the way we handle and interpret data, your work will underpin the success of our global engagement efforts. You’ll be part of Supporter Services—a collaborative and close-knit team that brings together expertise in Systems, Gifts and Data, Philanthropic Income, and Analytics and Reporting. Working closely with the Systems Manager, you’ll also have regular opportunities to connect with colleagues across the division, making this a highly visible and rewarding role.
What will you be doing?
Routine integration processes
You will carry out a number of routine integrations, such as our weekly MailChimp integration, which involves the export, manipulation and import of large volumes of data. You will also be heavily involved in the importing of large quantities of student and alumni data into our database, working closely with the Systems Manager to cleanse, standardise and prepare the data for import.
You will manage your own time to ensure that these integrations are done punctually, accurately and efficiently alongside your other duties. As you carry out these processes you will troubleshoot problems, developing and documenting solutions and improvements as you go.
Contribute the development of automated integrations
As an expert in these routine integration processes, you will support the Systems Manager in the development of new automated integrations through a third-party software. You will contribute to the initial design of these processes, feedback on proposed solutions and troubleshoot during the adoption phase.
Systems Maintenance projects
You will work on a variety of ad hoc systems maintenance projects, involving restructuring existing data, troubleshooting and documenting processes. From time to time this will require liaison with wider teams to ascertain their requirements or get their feedback.
Personal Development
This role will enable to you build on your skillset, with ample opportunity to experiment with and refine technical skills as part of your day-to-day work. You will become an expert user of Raiser’s Edge NXT and MailChimp, and you will gain strong database management experience.

You have experience of working with large complex datasets and relational databases; experience with Blackbaud products, especially The Raiser’s Edge NXT, in a charity or educational environment would be desirable.
You have a logical, questioning mindset with strong analytical skills and good attention to detail
You are highly organized and enjoy managing your own workload.

Work pattern: Full time - 35 hours per week
The working pattern for this role is hybrid. The office day is Tuesday.
