Are you a postdoctoral researcher with a passion for neuroscience and drug discovery? We have an exciting opportunity at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN) for someone looking to apply their expertise in in vivo mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases to make a real impact in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND/ALS).
You’ll join a collaborative and well-connected team working on a translational research project exploring the potential of Janus kinase inhibitors (Jakinibs) as neuroprotective agents. Using in vivo models of MND, you’ll generate high-quality data to uncover mechanisms of neuroprotection and help drive forward therapeutic development.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be educated to PhD level (or have equivalent experience) in neuroscience or a related field, with hands-on experience in neurodegenerative mouse models. You’ll be confident in immunocytochemistry, gene/protein expression analysis, and statistical data interpretation using tools like GraphPad Prism.
We’re looking for someone who:
Experience in therapeutic evaluation, in vitro models, or supervising junior researchers would be a bonus.
Why Join Us?
SITraN is a world-leading research centre dedicated to tackling neurodegenerative diseases. Opened by Her Majesty the Queen and awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize, our institute brings together clinical and basic scientists in a purpose-built facility designed to accelerate discoveries from bench to bedside.
