The Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (ITD) is seeking to appoint an education-focused Research Fellow in Travel Medicine to support the development and delivery of a new online short course in Travel Medicine.
The post-holder will work closely with the Course Director Nicky Longley, the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) multimedia team, and colleagues across LSHTM to design, develop, and deliver an innovative online programme. They will create engaging and research-informed teaching resources, mentor others in best practice, and contribute to the wider dissemination of educational innovation within and beyond LSHTM.
The role presents an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in applying and developing their academic skills and pedagogical expertise to shape the future of education provision within the Faculty.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree at MSc level (or above) in a relevant field, have completed a travel medicine course or qualification, have up-to-date knowledge and clinical experience of working in travel medicine and migrant health, experience in a formal teaching environment in higher education and possess excellent digital skills relevant to online education. The post is funded by the Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases and is available from 05 January 2026. The post is part-time (0.6 FTE; 21 hours per week) and fixed term for a duration of 18 months. The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting).

The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
