About the role
Due to continued growth, the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences are seeking a Teaching Fellow in Computer Science to contribute to the continued excellence of its teaching programmes. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supporting students on campus based learning programmes. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of lectures, seminars and assessment activities, and will offer academic and pastoral support to students, helping to maintain the School’s supportive learning environment.
This role also includes contributing to curriculum development, integrating new technologies into teaching practice, and participating in the wider academic life of the School through committee work and continuous professional development. As a Teaching Fellow, you will play a vital role in shaping the learning experiences of students, ensuring that course content remains current and engaging within the context of a research-led institution.
About you
You will have a PhD (or be working towards one) or possess equivalent industry experience in a relevant area such as computer science, software engineering, cyber security, or AI. A strong commitment to teaching excellence is essential, along with experience supporting high-quality learning. You should be able to demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as is the ability to teach and supervise students effectively. Experience with digital learning environments such as Blackboard or Moodle is desirable, as is a track record of developing and delivering engaging teaching materials.
