Are you a registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Therapist with a passion for supporting student well-being? Aston University is looking for an experienced and culturally competent professional to join our Welfare & Safeguarding service. If you have three years of post-qualification supervised practice, current registration with your professional regulatory body, and ideally experience in higher education or a similar fast-paced environment - we want to hear from you!
As a key member of our student-facing Mental Health & Welfare team, you'll provide mental health support, risk assessment, crisis management, and wellbeing interventions to students navigating a wide range of practical, mental health, relational, and psychological difficulties. These can include housing and financial issues, common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, more severe and persistent mental illness self-harm, relationship stresses, trauma, and the unique pressures of university life.
This a predominantly in-person role on campus, requiring year-round presence.
