The Role
The School of Engineering is recognised for high-quality and real-world teaching, state of the art activity-led facilities and an approach guided by and focused on industry. We are ranked in the top 10 of the Guardian University Guide 2023 for our courses in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace and Manufacturing.
As Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Aviation Management you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience. Assistant Professors (Teaching) lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams.

Qualifications Required
Master’s degree in an appropriate subject OR (if from a professional practice background) a good Honors Degree and an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership.
A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education.
PhD in a relevant area or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
Our Successful Candidate
You will ideally have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in aviation management or related discipline, with the development and demonstration of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
Experience of management or leadership in aviation operations, and an ability to contribute to the teaching of planning and scheduling would be advantageous. Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience in the development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the academic subject area.
