Food & Beverage Assistant (Full Time)

About the role

The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff & external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options.

The West hospitality team are seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant to join their team on a permanent 42-week contract. Training & uniforms are provided. There are opportunities for development and to seek promotion in this role.

Full details of this role are included in the job description, but responsibilities include:

• taking customer orders 
• serving food & drink
• working on the tills
• stocking food stations 
• assisting with cleaning, clearing tables and catering areas

The role includes a variety of shifts, which vary according to the business needs. These include early morning, lunch periods Monday-Friday, evening and weekend working on a 5 out of 7 days per week contract. The weekly shift pattern consists of 5 straight shifts only, no split shifts.

About you

The successful candidate will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You should be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times. 

Further Information

This full-time ‘term-time only’ role links in with our busy term time and part of our summer commercial period. You will work 36.5 hours a week on 42 weeks of the year, with fixed time-off. Non-working weeks are usually, around Christmas, Easter and August.
