Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance (either part or full time), with the possibility of further extension, subject to satisfactory work and the start date. The post should start as soon as possible.
The position is for a post-doctoral Research Assistant/Associate to work in Professor Judith Driscoll's research group - https://driscoll.msm.cam.ac.uk/. The position is to work on a Korean government funded project.
The candidate will be expected to build measurement probes for measuring currents of superconducting films and coated conductors (with and without rotation) at cryogenic temperatures. They should have experience in use of magnetisation measurements and using a PPMS system.
Other responsibilities include liaising with colleagues in the Driscoll research group and in the collaboration (with industry partners in Korea and others in the UK).
Experience Criteria:
Applicants should have or about to obtain a PhD in Physics or related topic.
Effective written communication skills and the ability to plan and organise independently are essential.
