Merton College proposes to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Mathematics for the period 5 January 2026 until 31 March 2026.
The main duties of the post will be: to teach undergraduates reading Mathematics for up to six hours per week in full term, to share in the organisational responsibility and administration of Mathematics and Joint Degrees with Mathematics in the College, to act as Director of Studies for a number of students studying Mathematics, and to provide study skills and pastoral support.
The successful candidate will be able to teach first-year (Prelims) Analysis and second-year (Part A) options, including Integration. They will have completed, or be about to complete, a doctorate in Mathematics. The ability to provide effective tutorial teaching to high-achieving undergraduates is essential.
