The School of Public Policy at LSE is a global centre for teaching, research, and policy engagement. We are seeking an outstanding academic at the Associate or Full Professor level to join our world-class faculty and help shape the future of public policy education and research.
The postholder will be a leading specialist in political science with a focus on public policy, conducting world-leading research, delivering high-quality postgraduate teaching, and contributing to the School’s leadership, administration, and strategic development.
Candidates applying at the Associate Professor level will have an established record of internationally excellent research and a strong international reputation in public policy or its core disciplines. They will present a strategy for outstanding, policy-relevant research with potential for further world-leading outputs. Proven excellence in postgraduate teaching, commitment to a positive learning environment, and contributions to course and programme development are essential. Candidates should demonstrate leadership and collegiality, including willingness to take on departmental responsibilities.
Candidates applying at the Full Professor level will have a substantial record of world-leading research, evidenced by top journal publications and an outstanding international reputation in public policy or its core disciplines. They will have a strategy for future policy-relevant research with potential for further world-leading outputs. Proven excellence in postgraduate teaching, leadership in course and programme development, and commitment to a high-quality learning environment are essential. Candidates should demonstrate intellectual leadership, collegiality, mentoring, and willingness to take on substantial departmental responsibilities.
The successful candidate will take up the post by September 2026 or as close to this date as possible. We are seeking applicants who will contribute fully from the outset.
