The Audiovisual (AV) specialist role grade 4, is designed to develop the University's Audio-visual technology capabilities, an ideal opportunity for those entering into the world of AV who like to challenge themselves, progress and seize every opportunity, in return we will work with you develop your skills in our growing team. The role sits at grade 4 , where you will be expected support the works of the grade 5 role in check and maintain AV spaces and complete a AV teaching modification upgrade.
You will be Responsible for 2nd line triage of all incidents and requests to ensure high availability of our Audio-visual Services. A key area of the role is to support and engineer technology for our conferencing and events,. The roles will be 12 hours a week over 2 days on a 1 year fixed contract ( that we can be flexible with over any two days). The responsibilities are varied, never the two same days, delivering against SLA’s, resolution Incidents/requests supporting delivery of our ITIL processes.
You must demonstrate a genuine interest, enthusiasm, some experience / training in the wider field of Audio-visual technology. Areas may include; Event production (audio mixing skills, video camera skills), Teaching Technologies (projections, interactive screens, video walls), Integrated System Technology (AV control systems), AV installation, Video Conferencing Systems, Lecture Capture, Desktop Computers & IT, Imaging, Active Directory, PowerPoint / Photoshop and design packages, Teaching VLE & Collaborate, Digital signage systems, Theatre production, Broadcast Media Technologies, Audio Engineering, Digital Streaming, Basic AV networking, AV remote tools, and Social Media. Its expected candidates will have varying skill sets at an entry level, but may not have experience in all areas, where we would support you in the development of the role.
The role requires a clear analytical approach to problem solving, along with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a diverse technical team. You will work on minor project delivering aspect of an AV upgrade to a set design, process, provide Audio Visual Maintenance, or helping with working event technology.
