About the role
We are seeking a Operations Assistant for critical role at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, giving a broad range of administrative and practical support to the team that manages the day-to-day functioning of our busy heritage site.
This is a hands-on role encompassing everything from arranging meetings and minute-taking, HR admin, timesheets and other payroll-related tasks, to jumping in to support the Visitor Experience and Events Teams on busy days, managing the Museum Lodge (a small residential property for use by Museum researchers and bursary students), working with the Head of Operations on commercial ventures, and occasionally moving dinosaurs.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours per week. Part-time considered at 0.8 FTE/29.2 hours per week
Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a satisfactory Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) due to access to Museum collections.
About You
Managed by the Head of Operations and working closely with the Museum Executive Assistant, the Operations Assistant will give administrative support to all areas of the work of the Museum’s operations team. The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative and communication skills, a demonstrable passion for Museums, and a can-do attitude and be a collaborative and enthusiastic colleague.
