The Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is a new Technological University in the west and northwest of Ireland, formed from the merger of three Institutes of Technology in 2022. ATU has nine regional campuses dispersed across sites from Galway to Donegal. The University has over 2600 students and more than 2200 staff delivering over 600+ programmes of learning.
The post relates primarily to the teaching of modules in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy and Environmental Legislation. The successful applicant will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across a number of programmes, both full-time and online. Degree programmes include Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Protection, Sustainability and Climate Reporting, and other science and policy-based offerings.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops; supervise case study projects; and contribute to curriculum development and innovation. Areas of teaching emphasis include environmental law, EU and international policy frameworks, environmental governance, compliance and enforcement, and sustainable development policy.
Essential Qualifications
An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
