The role
Bristol Veterinary School is looking to recruit to the role of Lecturer in Veterinary Education (Senior Veterinary Clinical Demonstrator). This appointment at Bristol Veterinary School’s Langford Campus offers the opportunity to be a key player in the leadership and delivery of teaching excellence in the veterinary curriculum, with a focus on supporting veterinary undergraduates to develop the skills required for primary care clinical practice.
The successful candidate will be committed to teaching excellence and scholarship across all areas. The post involves the leadership and delivery of clinical, classroom, practical and online teaching to undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of and commitment to, training the next generation of veterinary surgeons and nurses. Contributing to developing, implementing and evaluating new teaching and assessment initiatives, together with supporting colleagues in developing a dynamic blended curriculum.
Hybrid working is available: as teaching commitments allow.
What will you be doing?
You will play an important role in enhancing the student experience and work to support the students in their learning from a rich, diverse, and challenging caseload. You will provide feedback and contribute to assessment, as well as support the administration associated with formal university teaching rotations. As part of the clinical educational team, you will be supported to contribute to the development of teaching and assessment and research outputs in the area of veterinary education. You will also act as a facilitator for the Accelerated Graduate Entry Veterinary Programme, which uses a problem-based approach to learning, enabling students to achieve the expected learning outcomes from clinically-based case-based scenarios.

You hold a veterinary degree, are an experienced veterinarian and RCVS registered.
Please note that for internal candidates, this role will be offered as a secondment, subject to agreement with your current line manager.
