The Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS) at the University of Warwick is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide essential financial and related operational support across education, research, and departmental activities.
This pivotal role combines day-to-day financial management including budget monitoring, process improvement, and financial planning. The postholder will work closely with academic and Professional Services colleagues in the Department and across the University and beyond, offering expert advice and ensuring smooth financial and related operational support. Embedded in a vibrant community of 120 staff and 1,300 students this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic and ambitious department.
About You
You will be a detail-oriented finance professional with a Financial qualification (AAT or equivalent) and strong experience in financial administration, ideally within a large organisation. You will bring expertise in SAP (or similar systems), excellent Excel and IT skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be confident in managing complex workflows, interpreting financial regulations, and communicating clearly with stakeholders at all levels. You thrive in a collaborative environment, balancing autonomy with teamwork, and can prioritise effectively under pressure. Whether supporting budget planning or resolving complex financial queries, you will be committed to accuracy, compliance, continuous improvement and excellent service delivery.
