The University of Warwick, a top-tier UK institution renowned for excellence in research, teaching, and innovation, is recruiting a Procurement Manager to join its Estates Procurement Team. This team plays a vital role in supporting the university’s Estates operations, which encompass planning, constructing, and maintaining a wide range of facilities—from teaching spaces like the Faculty of Arts to major research centres such as the National Automotive Innovation Centre.

The Estates department is central to creating environments that inspire and support students, staff, business partners, and the local community. The Procurement Manager will contribute to this mission by ensuring effective category and supplier management, reporting directly to the Senior Procurement Manager – Estates (Works and Consultancy).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver category strategies that drive best value and continuous improvement.
  • Manage a defined portfolio of spend, including sourcing activities such as RFQs, formal tenders, and competitive sourcing.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to ensure benefits realization and robust supplier performance.
  • Operate within a framework of procurement regulations and audit procedures.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Contribute to a responsive, efficient, and value-generating procurement service.

  • Dynamic and comfortable working in a complex organizational environment.
  • Experienced in category management and strategic sourcing.
  • Skilled negotiator with strong contract management capabilities.
  • Excellent communicator with strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to foster collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Familiar with market dynamics and cost drivers.

Employment Details:

  • Salary: £35,608 – 46,049 per annum, plus a £5,000 non-pensionable market supplement.
  • Working Hours: Full-time (36.5 hours/week), with consideration for part-time applicants (minimum 30 hours/week).
  • Hybrid Working: Minimum 60% in-office (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with up to 40% remote working.
