LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university
Salary is competitive and no less than £43,277 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for two years with potential to renew for a third year
This post is tenable from 5 January 2026
LSE100, LSE’s flagship interdisciplinary course taken by all first-year undergraduates, is recruiting a creative educator with a commitment to innovative interdisciplinary teaching to join our team. LSE100 is an internationally recognised, sector-leading course which introduces LSE students to the School’s mission, building their capacity to tackle complex problems through research-rich education and the exploration of transformative global challenges.
The successful candidate will teach eight fortnightly seminar groups (approximately six weekly classroom contact hours) and will contribute to the development of course materials, as well as developing their own research agenda. They will be part of an enthusiastic community of interdisciplinary educators and will have opportunities to collaborate on educational initiatives within and beyond LSE100. The successful candidate will also carry out administrative duties while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for LSE100 students.
LSE100 offers three themes for students to choose from as their focus of study on the course: How can we control AI?, How can we transform our climate futures?, and How can we create a fair society? For this post, we are looking for individuals who have an interest in teaching on our How can we control AI? theme, and whose research interests and teaching expertise connect to one of the other themes.
Candidates should have completed or be close to completing a PhD in a social science or related discipline. Relevant teaching and assessment experience particularly in an interdisciplinary context, the ability to work closely with and learn from colleagues, and excellent communication and organisational skills, are also essential. The other criteria that will be used in shortlisting for this post can be found in the person specification which is attached to this vacancy on LSE’s recruitment system.
Please note that at least one of the referees provided in the application should be someone who has overseen or managed the candidate’s teaching.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, and excellent training and development opportunities.
For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.

As such, applicants who have already been employed as an LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply. If you have any queries about this please contact the HR Division.
