As a non-profit institution, BUiD’s mission is to contribute to Dubai’s vision of becoming a regional hub for education and research. Its goals include advancing research-led education, supporting national development, fostering industry collaboration, and maintaining strong academic ties with British and global universities.

Position Overview

BUiD’s Business School is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Finance. The successful candidate will teach across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels; supervise postgraduate research; and publish in internationally recognized journals. The role includes contributing to the development and accreditation of programmes, fostering a strong research culture, and supporting the University’s strategic initiatives. Applicants with a distinguished publication record, academic leadership experience, and expertise in finance or risk management will be given priority.

Finance modules are also integral to the PhD in Business Management, Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), MBA, and BSc in Business Management programmes, all emphasizing research-led teaching, innovation, and global business competencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance and Leadership: Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance and quality within the faculty.
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver finance-related courses using innovative and blended learning methods; participate in programme accreditation.
  • Research: Conduct high-quality, impactful research; publish in reputable journals; attract external funding; and build collaborations with academia, government, and industry.
  • Supervision: Guide master’s and PhD students to successful completion.
  • Community Engagement: Establish partnerships with industry and professional bodies to enhance the university’s visibility and societal impact.
  • Administrative and Institutional Support: Participate in key university events and contribute to the overall development and strategic direction of the faculty.

Person Specification

Applicants must hold a PhD in Finance or Business Management (with a focus on finance or risk management). They should demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership. Essential attributes include:

  • Proven record of high-quality publications and research impact.
  • Ability to teach at multiple levels (undergraduate, master’s, PhD).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in supervising doctoral students and contributing to accreditation processes.
  • Commitment to innovative teaching, e-learning, and intercultural collaboration.
Desirable qualities include success in securing external research funding, business development experience, and strategic leadership in academic settings.

Applicants must submit a cover letter and a detailed CV. The application deadline is 30 November 2025, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

This position offers an opportunity to join a leading British-model university in the UAE, contributing to excellence in finance education, research, and community engagement while helping strengthen BUiD’s international academic reputation.
