Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Wellbeing Advisor (Student Harassment and Sexual Misconduct). This role sits within the Mental Health and Wellbeing (MHWB) Team and reports to the Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy Manager. This role supports a range of proactive wellbeing interventions at the university.

The main aims of this role are to:

  1. deliver student-facing interventions in line with the Office for Students’ E6 Condition of Registration: Preventing and Responding to Student Harassment and Sexual Misconduct. A significant proportion of this role’s activity will be delivering student consent workshops and acting as a Student Liaison Officer (more information in the candidate pack).
  2. facilitate student-facing interventions that proactively address broader mental health and wellbeing themes. This will include delivering wellbeing workshops to specific cohorts, and population-level pop-up events, digital communications and more.

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience delivering group workshops to adults, particularly in relation to sexual consent, harassment and being an active bystander.
  • Strong understanding of the laws related to sexual consent and harassment (Sexual Offences Act, Protection Against Harassment Act, Equalities Act)
  • Experience organising and facilitating population-level proactive wellbeing interventions, eg pop-up events, workshops and digital communications.
  • Experience collaborating with other teams and external organisations.
  • Experience of supporting individuals with their wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in the relevant areas mentioned above, confident facilitating group workshops, and be highly motivated to deliver interventions that proactively seek to prevent harassment and sexual misconduct. Experience as a Sexual Violence Liaison Officer, Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor or similar role is highly desirable.
