About UCL
Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL is a radically different university – the first in England to welcome students of any religion and to admit women on equal terms. Today, UCL is home to over 50,000 students and 16,000 staff and consistently ranks among the world’s top 10 universities.
The Vice-President External Engagement (VPEE) team leads UCL’s communications and marketing activity, ensuring that the university’s public profile and reputation reflect its global excellence in research, education and innovation.
About the role
The Senior Publications Officer plays a key role in managing UCL’s student recruitment publications and digital prospectuses, helping to attract prospective students and showcase UCL’s world-leading brand. The postholder will oversee the production of major materials such as the Undergraduate Prospectus, coordinate digital prospectus systems and processes, and ensure a smooth experience for both contributors and users.
Working closely with academic faculties, central departments and ISD colleagues, you will produce engaging, compliant and brand-aligned content that supports UCL’s recruitment goals. You’ll also manage supplier relationships, guide content creators, and promote best practice in editorial and digital presentation.
Key responsibilities
This fixed-term role runs from 17 November 2025 to 31 May 2026 and is based at UCL’s Kings Cross/St Pancras office for two days per week on a hybrid basis.
 Job Ref: B23-00157 | Closing Date: 09 November 2025 (23:59 UK time)
About you
You are a creative and technically skilled communications professional experienced in managing print publications. With a strong eye for design and detail, you’re confident using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator to create materials that reflect UCL’s brand and appeal to prospective students.
You’ll bring a good understanding of web publishing, CMS and HTML environments, and compliance in higher education. Organised and collaborative, you’ll thrive on working with multiple teams across a large institution to deliver high-quality, effective communications.
