Research Fellow in Marine Sediment Biogeochemistry

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you an ambitious environmental scientist with experience in marine sediment biogeochemistry? Do you want to combine environmental sampling, experiments and modelling to answer key questions in marine science that face society? Do you want to develop your career in one of the UKs leading research intensive universities?

You could be a key member of our team investigating how marine sediment geochemistry and organic carbon decomposition responds to influence of seabed trawling on the UK continental shelf. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the NERC-funded SeaSTORE project, you will help co-ordinate and lead-aspects of seagoing fieldwork, lab experiments, sample analyses, data modelling and interpretation, to learn if and how seabed trawling affects long-term marine carbon storage and to influence governance of the UK seabed.
