Join us at a exciting moment for Graphic Design at the University of Gloucestershire.
We’re looking for a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design who wants to lead the design of a course that reflects where the industry is going, not just where it’s been.
As Course Leader, you’ll take creative ownership of the programme and help shape its next phase of development within the School of Art, Culture and Environment. You’ll bring energy, ideas, and a clear vision for what great design education looks like today.
The Academic Course Leader: Graphic Design will be completed alongside your substantive post, for which time will be allocated in your WAM. This role is fixed term for three years. There will be a staff development programme provided for you, and you would be expected to serve the full term of the appointment.
Your role will combine:
- Teaching and learning that challenges and inspires students.
- Curriculum design that blends creativity, technology, and professional practice.
- External engagement that connects the course to the fast-evolving creative industries in Gloucestershire and beyond.
You’ll have:
- A degree and postgraduate qualification in Graphic Design or a closely related field.
- Experience of teaching and assessment in higher education.
- A strong creative or scholarly profile with public or professional recognition.
- Evidence of curriculum design and quality enhancement.
- Confident knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and awareness of emerging tools such as AI in design.
We’re looking for someone ambitious, collaborative, and motivated by helping others achieve their best. This is a rare opportunity to help shape an exceptional course and community within a school that values creativity, experimentation, and professional relevance.
