As a member of the People Services team, you will support the delivery of excellent standards of HROD administration and payroll processes to colleagues across the University.

The HROD People Services team provides frontline customer service and enquiry management for HROD across a range of generalist and payroll related subjects.

You will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient administrative service across a range of HROD processes, accurately updating employee records within agreed deadlines and providing excellent customer service to University managers, staff, and external parties.

Inputting is completed in the HR and Payroll system (PeopleXD) alongside the production of word-processed letters and contracts.
 
You will work closely with the other HROD Assistants and Senior HROD Assistants within People Services, whilst also building key relationships with the wider directorate.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined-benefit pension schemes in the country.

Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/49th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 21% of your salary). For a salary of £25,000, for example, the University would pay £5,200 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £510 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).

If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS.  Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
