Lecturer - Initial Teacher Education (FES)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Campus Oldham (Higher Education at Oldham College) for a Lecturer in Initial Teacher Training (Further Education & Skills).

We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic academic to teach on our Initial Teacher Education (Further Education) courses.

We want a candidate that is passionate about the development of the further education teaching workforce, and that will help us shape higher education our provision.

Delivering excellence in teaching and learning, the successful candidate will ensure the professional standards for teachers are met. You will be involved in the development and implementation of a dynamic, innovative and high quality, Initial Teacher Education (Further Education & Skills) offer, delivering at levels 5, 6 and 7. As a lecturer, you will be responsible for assisting the course leader in the recruitment and admissions of trainees; implementation and monitoring of a robust mentoring model; and ensuring that the provision is constantly meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualified to Masters level the successful candidate should also possess an appropriate teaching qualification. Relevant sector experience of Initial Teacher Education (ITE) (Further Education & Skills) is essential for this post. You will need to be organised, innovative, and have the drive to further support the growth of the provision and outcomes of the trainees.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, which will include a teaching/observation commitment of 630 hours per academic year.
