The Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre is recruiting a Senior Programme Manager on a fixed term basis until the end of March 2028.
The Centre amalgamates cancer research in Cambridge and comprises of over 1,200 members and 200 research groups drawn from over 34 departments, institutes and units across all six schools of the University and affiliated NHS Trust Hospitals.
The mission of the Centre is to end death and disease caused by cancer through research, treatment and education.
The Centre combines world-class science and technology with excellent patient care to pioneer new ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer. Research is aligned to eight cross-disciplinary programmes, five virtual institutes and three affiliated physical institutes, all aligned to achieve the following four key strategic objectives:

In response to the growth of the Centre we now have an opportunity for a Senior Programme Manager who will provide strategic oversight of multiple research programmes, lead a portfolio of high-impact initiatives central to the Centre's mission, assume line management responsibilities and support the Centre Science Operations Manager.
The post offers an opportunity for a versatile and multi-skilled programme manager, with established line management experience, who is wanting to move into a more strategic role.
Candidates are expected to have a science degree, research experience and a proven track record of extensive programme management, preferably in cancer research.
