Applications are invited for the post of Preparation Area Technician in the School of Life Sciences.
The individual should have flexibility and willingness to provide cover to both Departments as this is part of a wider team whose services span across both the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School.
This role requires full-time cover to ensure continuity and consistency in operations across the week. The role provides the teaching and research activities with clean and sterile consumables.
Duties will involve collecting waste for autoclaving and disposal, washing and sterilising glassware for re-use and providing some commonly used consumables within laboratories.
Full on-the-job-training will be provided.

About You
We are looking for someone with expertise in working in a laboratory or technical environment, handling operational tasks such as autoclaving, sterilising and managing laboratory consumables.
Applicants should be proficient in their ability to multi-task, using their initiative and must have excellent communication skills. The ability to work without direct supervision and as part of a team.
You will have NVQ Level 1 or 2 or educated to GCSE level or equivalent, or experience in a similar or related role.
You must have an understanding of what is involved in excellent customer service provision and be able to multi-task, as many operations and processes are carried out simultaneously.
Some experience of a laboratory environment and knowledge of the sterilisation process would be desirable.
